From Vatel to the world: talent ready to lead the new era of hospitality.

Vatel Madrid has celebrated its graduation ceremonies for the Bachelor and MBA in International Hotel Management programs in an unforgettable day, marked by the emotion of the students and the pride of their families and professors.

Return

Students, the undisputed protagonists of the ceremony, experienced one of the most important moments of their academic journey: the completion of a demanding and transformative stage, and the beginning of their professional path in the hospitality and tourism industry.

The ceremonies featured the special participation of the President of the Vatel Group, Karine Sebban-Benzazon, whose presence reinforced the institutional significance of the event. In her speech, she highlighted the importance of the values that define Vatel—commitment, excellence, a service-oriented mindset, and French “savoir-faire”—and encouraged graduates to become ambassadors of these principles in their future careers. During her address, she conveyed a warm and inspiring message, emphasizing the pride this milestone represents not only for the students but also for their families and the entire academic community. She underlined the importance of this moment as the beginning of a new professional chapter, shaped by belonging to an international network united by values such as commitment, respect, openness, and excellence. She also encouraged students to approach their future with ambition and balance, wishing them success not only in their careers but also in their personal development. Her words reflected the strong sense of belonging and global outlook that define the institution.

The ceremony was also attended by Simond de Galbert, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs at the French Embassy and Director of the Institut Français de Madrid (IFM), whose presence underscored Vatel’s close ties to French culture and “savoir-faire.” A particularly significant role was played by the sponsors and academic representatives, key figures who accompanied students at this decisive moment in their lives: Michel Notten, General Manager of the Edition Madrid Hotel, who served as patron of the graduating class, offering an inspiring perspective on leadership and the evolution of the hospitality sector; and Carlos Vogeler, a faculty member and highly respected industry professional, who addressed the graduates on behalf of the teaching staff, sharing a message centered on commitment, excellence, and responsibility for their future careers.

One of the most notable aspects of this graduating class has been its international character. Students come from more than 45 different nationalities, making Vatel Madrid a true multicultural hub. This diversity has enriched the academic experience, fostering the exchange of knowledge, cultures, and perspectives, and preparing students to thrive in an increasingly demanding global environment.

During the ceremonies, the main academic awards were presented to the most outstanding students. In the Bachelor Degree in International Hotel Management programs, the Best Academic Performance Award was presented to Alejandra Novo and Olivia Linden, while the “From Theory to Practice” Award, recognizing professional excellence, was awarded to Lucía Estébanez and Martin Waltregny. The Vatel Trophy, the institution’s highest distinction, was awarded to Delphine Espivant and Jens Gudmundsen, and the Social Commitment Award was granted to Delphine Espivant, Fernando Rodríguez, Franchesca Adames, and Lorena Cruzado.

In the MBA program, the Best Academic Performance Award was presented to Carla Descoubes and Anna Costamoling. The Postgraduate Excellence Award, known as the Vatel MBA Trophy, was awarded to Iñigo Irigoyen and Melhem Mortada, while the Social Commitment Award,  the RSC program in collaboration with PINARDI, was granted to Adrien Beltrando and Thomas Pedrassi. Additionally, several honorary mentions were awarded to students who stood out for their effort, resilience, professional dedication, and team spirit.

With these graduation ceremonies, Vatel Madrid not only celebrates the academic success of its students, but also their comprehensive preparation to face the challenges of the international hospitality sector. The institution thus reaffirms its mission to train future leaders capable of combining technical knowledge, managerial skills, and a strong human dimension.

Clara Manzano-Monís, General Manager of Vatel Spain, closed the event with an inspiring message addressed to the graduates, highlighting both their achievements and the opportunities ahead, and encouraging them to step into the world with confidence, passion, and the values of Vatel as their guide. “Today we are not only celebrating what you have achieved, but everything that lies ahead. You have demonstrated effort, commitment, and a remarkable ability to overcome challenges. Go out into the world with confidence, passion, and the values of Vatel as your guide, because the future of the industry also bears your name. We are deeply proud of you and convinced that you will leave your mark wherever you go.”

The Class of 2026 leaves behind a high-level education, an international network of contacts, and, above all, the confidence needed to build their professional future anywhere in the world.
